From the first day, he was stalked and taunted by the bulls, a group of rapists out to make him their next victim. Brian Lauder works in the same prison, and tries to help, but when word gets out about Brett’s former lifestyle and membership in the leather and fetish club, Chaps, and that Brian is a member there as well, Brian’s help makes things worse.
Spencer, a former prison guard and current security at Chaps, is recruited by Brian to take a job at the prison and keep an extra set of eyes on Brett. What they all learn about the inner workings of the place terrify them more for the young man.
A mysterious black car pulls up to Spencer in the prison parking lot, and then waits at Brian’s home. They soon discover that not only is Brett’s life on the line, but their own, if they allow anything to happen to him.
Callahan O’Malley is a huge man of few words. He’s given a wide berth on the block, and no one can tell Brett why. When Brett is almost raped, he comes out of the infirmary terrified and when he sees that the bulls aren’t finished with him, he runs to Callahan and begs him, “Protect me!”
What starts as protection turns into something else. Callahan forces him to eat, to work out and teaches him to defend himself. Brett gets feelings for him, but Callahan won’t allow it. Then, the unthinkable happens, and Brett must again face the prison alone. Now, though, he has the skills and the pain behind them to protect himself.
Once he gets out, he realizes the fight isn’t over as he must face the world, which seems as ruthless as the prison ever did.
Come Back to Denver, and find that not all bound men are willing, and not all prisons have walls.

I wrote an incredible review (2 paragraphs even)and just before I was to submit it, my Kindle app crashed! Not happy! I'll try to recreate it but it's never as good as the first time, right?This book will take you through almost every emotion and feeling there is: anxiety, fear, love, disgust, empathy, astonishment, grief, sorrow, safety, anger, and finally fulfillment and resolution.
FYI, this is book number 5 in a series and after I had finished number 4, I wasn't sure if I wanted to go through Brett's "adventures." In fact even after I started reading it, I almost stopped before finishing, but the author had me so committed to seeing how things worked out for Brett that I NEEDED to finish it.
I had already read the previous 4 from this series as well as her 2 previous series (3+6 books) so I'm not the best judge, but I feel like Ms. Carrington put enough backstory in the beginning that you might be able to read as a standalone. But if this is your first title of hers, you will not regret going back for her previous titles!

Protect Me Denver Diaries Book 5 edition by Rain Carrington Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This was my favorite in the series I like all the major characters it read like a gritty play. The prison had intrigue and danger and a love story. The last act had hot sex and we catch up with characters we haven't seen in a while and a somewhat happy ending.
I loved this book. It made me cry, and it made me cringe. I loved the happiness that came out in the book and it made you think about prison and what it's really like. If you haven't read this yet get it n read it you won't regret it.
Wow! After the ending in book 4, I was impatiently waiting to read this one! It was most definitely worth the wait!
This one is a little different than the rest of the Denver Diaries books and looks to be setting up a new future series. And I am certainly not complaining about any of that! This book was amazing!
I loved this book! Rain Carrington takes you on quite an emotional roller coaster in this book. I'm pretty sure I felt every emotion that's humanly possible at one time or another while reading this. Some of this story is hard to read (please pay attention to the trigger warnings if needed).
This book is a must read in the series. There was a bit of mystery going on here too. A mysterious black car, some mystery person visiting a few of the Denver guys and it all has to do with keeping Brett safe while in prison. As I was reading a few different scenarios popped into my head of who this person could be, I was wrong about them all! Rain does an amazing job of keeping you guessing.
If you haven't tried this series yet, I highly recommend that you do! Rain Carrington is an amazing writer and the characters in this series are just fantastic. I really love all these guys so much! We also meet a couple new ones in Protect Me (Oh boy did I love Callahan so frickin' hard!) and revisit some others from past books (that was a nice surprise).
I wasn't expecting this book to go where it did. There was surprise after surprise in this one. It'll keep you on the edge of your seat, it's so damn good! I really don't want to give away any spoilers so I'll just gladly say, you should definitely read this book!

WOW! WOW! WOW! INCREDIBLE as always. MAGNIFICENTLY written story. SURPRISING curves and many unexpected twists. Brett and Callahan, WOW! This series is based on trust, love, friendship, loyalty and the unconditional love for the family you choose. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS INCREDIBLE SERIES!!!!!
